The Ellie Nivoro Fund at Nicklaus Children's Hospital (formerly named Miami Children's Hospital) was founded by Felicia and Yefim Nivoro to honor their daughter, Ellie Sophia Nivoro, who passed away October 25, 2009.  The fund was a way to continue Ellie's important legacy through helping other children, families and giving back to the hospital which took amazing care of her.

Our goal for the Ellie Nivoro fund was to help alleviate some of the suffering of children and their families that comes with coping with severe illnesses and diagnosis.  Our projects are focused on ways to help families make it through the day - whether it is finding another parent to speak to with a child with similar diagnosis, a break for a hot meal, a short rest in a comfortable chair or an opportunity to snuggle with your child.

With the opening of the new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (“NICU”), 2016 was a landmark year for our fund.  With Ellie’s name prominently welcoming patients and families as the first thing they see when they come to the NICU it will serve as a permanent legacy to honor Ellie and provide hope, encouragement and support for those currently receiving treatment.  In 2017, we were presented another prominent naming opportunity in the neonatal intensive care unit (“NICU”) at a second nursing station that will bear her name.  We couldn’t say no this amazing chance to expand her legacy.

Together, since 2009, we have raised over $250,000!  This is an amazing achievement and honor for our daughter.  This is all possible because of your generosity and kindness.
